  • PIER Fellowship at Yale University

PIER Fellowships enable selected K-12 and community college teachers to internationalize their course curricula by taking advantage of the many resources at Yale. PIER Fellows consult with PIER Directors, use the Yale Libraries, and participate in the MacMillan Center's lectures, conferences, and workshops. Fellows will spend three months, a semester, or a year using these resources and consulting with PIER Directors.

There is no set timeline for PIER Fellowships and interested teachers may apply at any time. Applicants should first consult with the PIER Director in their relevant area, outlining and developing with her or him the curriculum project they hope to accomplish. Applicants then send a letter (there is no application form) to the relevant Director, detailing their proposal, what resources they will need, and how they hope to use the results of their PIER Fellowship in their course or courses.

  • Harvard South Africa Fellowship Program

The Harvard South Africa Fellowship Program (HSAFP) is intended for South Africans who in the past were educationally disadvantaged by law and resource allocation under apartheid. In 1979 Harvard University began awarding these fellowships for a year of study in one or more of its faculties or schools. Harvard funds these fellowships from its own resources. Over the years more than one hundred and forty fellowships have been awarded to South Africans. Fellows usually range in age from 30 to 45 years.

Fellows submit their applications directly to the Harvard South Africa Fellowship Program at Harvard University.
