The IAS offers a full range of events both as a single sponsor and in partnership with other organizations. Current programming includes a series devoted to democracy and citizenship in Africa as well as events on literature and religion. This year, IAS launched a new series, World of Works in Africa that features talks, panels, and films devoted to a critical exploration of the meaning, consequence, and circumstance of the continenet's many work worlds. IAS continues to support the Ifriqiyya Colloquiumand the University Seminar on Contemporary Africa. Each year, the IAS supports the SIPA-Student Pan-African Network'sconferences the African Diplomatic Forum and the African Economic Forum. It also works collaboratively with the African Film Festivalto feature screenings and discussions with directors and film scholars on a range of topics.
